A man has died after being pulled from the water on New Year’s Day at a beach in a Victorian tourist town.
The man was pulled unresponsive from the water at Hut Gully Beach, off the Great Ocean Rd, in Anglesea about 2.20pm on Monday, police said.
He had reportedly been experiencing difficulty in the water.
The man died at the scene.

He has yet to be formally identified.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious,” Victoria Police said.
